ACCESS TO WORK CASE STUDIES
Many people may be eligible for and Access to work grant without realising. Below are some details of our customers experience in getting their ATW grants to help you understand how the process works.
CASE STUDY 1
Name: Ms Brown from Merseyside
Condition : Ms Brown has arthritis in her neck and spine, and neck and head problems after brain surgery.
Date Contacted ATW: December 25
Grant Details: Following an assessment from Access to Work, Awarded a grant for a bespoke made Ergonomic chair.
Chair Supplier Details: Contacted Emotion Office in Jan 26 for a Spynamics Assessment. A proforma invoice was then sent which was paid by Ms Browns employer, who then claimed back from the DWP. The made to measure spynamics chair was then manufactured with a double memory foam seat, memory foam back, 4 way adjustable arms, sacral pump, lumbar pump, thoracic pump and an adjustable headrest. This was delivered in February 26.
Chair Assessment Review from Ms Brown: " Quick response, assessment was easy and helpful. The assessor had good knowledge and understanding of my needs and made the whole process easy and lighthearted."
Chair Review from Ms Brown: " The chair came quickly and then I had another video call to help me set it up. I am very happy and satisfied with my chair and the whole process"

CASE STUDY 2
Name: Kate from Nottinghamshire
Condition: Following an accident Kate had 4 bulging discs in the spine, which led on to osteo arthritis.
Date Contacted ATW: February 26
Grant Details: Following an assessment from Access to work, Awarded a grant for a bespoke made chair and height adjustable desk.
Equipment Supplier Details: Contacted Emotion Office in March 26, had a video call assessment and was sent a profoma invoice for a Spynamics SD3 chair made to her size in a fabric chosen from samples sent by Emotion Office, plus a height adjustable desk and accessories, installed by the team working for Emotion Office.
Kate loaded the proforma invoice up on to the DWP site and they paid Emotion Office direct.
