FAQ'S Re ACCESS TO WORK GRANTS

Often our customers want reassurance on various points regarding Access To Work so we have put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions which you may find useful….

• HOW DO I APPLY FOR AN ACCESS TO WORK GRANT?
• Either online https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work/apply, or by phone on     0800 121 7479

• HOW LONG DOES AN ACCESS TO WORK GRANT TAKE TO GET?
• You can apply online for an Access To Work Grant, first of all you will need to have an assessment. This can take up to 30 weeks! before you have an assessment, and then the grant figure should be given shortly afterwards.

• I AM ABOUT TO RECEIVE AN ACCESS TO WORK GRANT, DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY CHAIR MYSELF UPFRONT?
• There are several options once you receive your grant, you can pay for your chair/desk yourself and then claim back, this means you will have your goods delivered within 2 weeks. Alternatively you can ask your employer to pay up front and they claim back. If neither of these options work for you we can provide a proforma invoice that you can send to the DWP and they will pay us direct. However this takes up to 5 weeks for us to receive payment, and then a further 2 weeks for the goods to be delivered but is still the best option for many customers.

• WHAT SORT OF CHAIRS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR A GRANT?
• Sometimes customers know exactly what sort of chair suits them but usually this tends to be something like a HAG chair which is what we call an off the shelf chair. These are very good chairs with a long warranty and ergonomically excellent.
• However for the majority of customers we offer a free whattsapp video call assessment to determine the best chair according to the customers needs. We then make a chair specifically for the customer. It is based on either a Spynamics chair or one of our Back Care Chair ranges, depending on the grant amount. Both chairs have many many options and are completely customisable.
